The ESP32-C3 is a cost-effective microcontroller from Espressif, equipped with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® Low Energy (Bluetooth 5 LE) support. Built on a RISC-V core, it's tailored for straightforward projects, serving as a more affordable successor to the ESP8266 rather than the more complex ESP32-Sx or ESP32 classic chips.
Despite the minimal pin count, this microcontroller integrates a comprehensive range of peripherals, including:
- UART, I2C, I2S, and remote control peripheral
- LED PWM controller and general DMA controller
- TWAI controller, USB Serial/JTAG controller
- Temperature sensor and ADC
- SPI, Dual SPI, and Quad SPI interfaces
Note: It does not include a DAC or native capacitive touch functionality. While it features a built-in USB-to-Serial conversion, it lacks native USB support, meaning it can't be used as a keyboard or disk drive.
With advanced power and RF performance, the ESP32-C3 is ideal for a range of applications, including IoT, wearable electronics, and smart home devices.
